Thank You for your Generosity
LIZ, 29, BRIDGETOWN, BB
Last year my husband and i took a vacation to Miami. We stayed at Ramada in Hialeah. One day my husband was in the food line at Wendy's Restaurant. Before he could of order his meals, a young gentlemen came up to him and gave him $20.00 to buy his meal. We were really grateful and happy because we saw it as a blessing. That day my husband and i was low on cash, and we were only planning to buy four (4) burgers for 0.99. However, because of the gentlemen generosity we were able to buy a complete large meal. We didn't get a chance to get the gentleman name because he quickly left. However, God knows who he is and we pray that God riches blessing will always be upon him and his family. Thank You.

Labour of Love
Caren Sroka, 46, Lake Worth, US
We met two gentlemen, Dave & Mike, plumbers by trade, through close friends. We have only spent a couple of occasions with them, but always felt that genuine sense of friendship. Now my husband, Al, is on the Transplant waiting list, and it seems like one thing goes wrong after another. Dave & Mike traveled 112 miles round-trip with their labour of love blessing. We called them expecting to pay them for the job, of course. They worked on our "sink from hell" all day, on a job that usually took them a half hour to do. Al said that they wouldn't accept a dime for their work, even though Al still wrote out a check, he had to void it. So instead, Al insisted that he take them out for lunch. Just thinking about it I cry, thinking about the fnancial woes we are having lately, for a job that could have costed more than $500. It was a true blessing from a team of true friends, for which we are so grateful.

Car to motivate nephew
Will, 31, Normal, US
In december through the gift revolution my wife and I were moved to try to motivate my nephew to do better in school, not do drugs and learn responsibility by having a part time job. My sister is a single mother and it would have been difficult for her to get him a car. So far his grades are better and he has not done drugs.

Money
Andrea , 49, Cooper City, Fl, US
My husband was laid off in September 2008. He has searched for a job relentlessly but so far has not found one. There have been no offers and he is becoming somewhat distressed. When Christmas was approaching I knew that we would not be spending any money on gifts. That was ok because in the past we had done our share of giving. Our family certainly did not need another gadget, gizmo or thing. We did however want to continue our giving of gifts to the less fortunate; however, we now were the ones less fortunate. It saddened me to think that we could not give. A secrete friend left me money in a Christmas card. This card was not signed. I was not sure what to spend the money on so instead I used it for groceries. We had our family over for holiday dinner and thanked god for the gifts we were about to receive. Truly these were gifts and I felt very grateful. I can not thank the person who sent us the money but I can say thank you for this movement. I am sure the person is a god believing person and all I can say is pay it forward.
Thanks and God Bless.....

I work at grocery store as a casher, and it was around the holidays,I was not my self one day and not tslking and laughing.Because I had been so much pain in lower hip going down my right leg for about two month's.And it was getting worse each day standing on that hard floor.I could not get in to see the doctor any time soon, because of the holiday.A customer came though my line I rang up her grocery's she must have see the pain in my eyes or something.I am just now able to set down and type my story how one person gave me a gift with compassion. She ask me to add a gift card to her grocery, than paid for the final bill and turn around and gave me the gift card and with the it was a card THE GIFT REVOLUTION and ask me to look it up.I have been out of work now for two month's and I had to get a SIJ shot two differant times I was in bed for three weeks, slowy getting better. I well never for get the compassion she gave me.Not just the gift, but the love and compassion I receive from her.I pray the LORD to give her a double portion of blessing of what she has given to me.Thank you! eating brunch alone on a satur
Zoe, 29, Kentfield, CA, US
i decided to take myself out for brunch today. i live alone, and don't have a sweetie to spend a leisurely weekend morning with. while i like going to this cafe by myself, i was feeling a little lonely today watching all the couples strolling in with their "we spent all morning in bed" look. i brought a book and was thanking god for whipped lemon butter and fresh biscuits as i switched between reading and people-watching. finished eating, dishes cleared, and i sat for a bit waiting for the bill. the waitress finally came over to me and with a smile told me that the manager had taken care of my bill, and the brunch was a gift. such a small gesture, but wow, the room seemed to brighten and I felt awkward and completely touched by the generosity. something so unexpected lightened my mood for the rest of the day. now i'm scheming about the best way to "pay it forward"!

GOD HEARS
S. Houston, 36, Miramar, US
The funny thing about this blessing, is that I wouldn't say that it was something that I "Prayed" for. I simply spoke it, and GOD, heard me.
One day I was overwhelmed with the laundry, the children, cooking dinner and the other seemingly daunting task that mothers must do. A friend who'd invited himself over for dinner was watching me fold clothes on the couch. I said to him with a sigh "man I would love to have a cleaning service come and help me out". That's it, a "wish" of sorts, right, not so according to the Lord.
Not even a week later I received a telephone call while up early before church doing some "cleaning" before the children woke up.
It was an old friend and she was telling me about something she and a few friends were doing, well, because I was in the mist of cleaning, I was half listening to her and just wanted her to "get to the point". lol. I was waiting for her to tell me how much she needed to collect (cause I figured she wanted a donation), but boy was I wrong!
I was then told that they wanted to bless me with a cleaning service for the day and dinner for me and my family. I was utterly floored. I began to cry, because it was at that moment GOD reminded me of the desire I had spoken, and how HE had heard me, and the HE was giving me a desire of my heart!
Wow!!!!!!
So I just want to take a moment out to once again thank these ladies who have proven to be true Women of GOD!!! Thank you for allowing GOD to use you, and thank you for making my heart swell with love. I love you all.

Roses
Julia Lynn, 16, Lima, PE
So my friend and I decided that we were going to do something for the gift revolution. We went to the market here and bought a dozen roses...because you can do that for 6 dollars. :) Then we went and sat on a bench in the middle of a walking street in the market and just watched people. When a woman walked by who looked like she needed some encouragement, we went up to her and gave her a flower. We got so amazing responses. One little girl was in a shop watching us the whole time. We got her attention and told her to come to us so we could give her a flower. She waved so many times and was like, "Mom mom! Hurry!" She gave us each a hug when she got her flower. One elderly woman was walking with her husband. They both smiled SO big when I handed the rose to her and said it was a gift. It was such a rewarding experience. :) We will be doing it again in the future.

Waiting Area
Nathalie C. , 26, New York, US
On January 2nd, 2009 my flight from Santiago, D.R. to JFK airport was delayed for four hours. I was fortunate enough to run into Hommy (a guy I met at a friend’s Halloween party in October). As we waited, we kept each other company. We shared stories from our vacation in D.R.; listened to music; we even sang a little bit, LOL…He invited me to eat with him at one of the restaurants in the gate waiting area. He then gave me the Gift Revolution.com card and explained to me what it was about.
Hommy made an otherwise irritating situation (waiting in an airport) comfortable, easy, and fun. It felt as if time was flying by and soon enough we were in our respective airplane seats on our way home.

Perfect Timing
everson, 29, weston, US
On the morning of January 9th 09'. I took a trip to the local Walgreens, and the moment I stepped into the store the power went out. I wasn't able to purchase what I went there for, and me having very little patience, I decided to go back at a later time. When I returned to make my purchase my card would not go through for some odd reason, but this kind lady offered to pay for the merchandise. God Bless you. Mystery Lady

He needed Food!!!
Mickel M. M., 29, Pembroke Pines, US
Usually we see people on the side of the road asking for help. This one man that i saw walked by my car while at a stop light. His sign said he needed food. I looked at him and really saw the hunger in his eyes. I drove off knowing what i would do for him. I stopped at a wendys on taft and university. Got him a #1 combo with a coke.. ketchup and all too.. i went back to where i saw they guy, turned around and waited for the light to turn red. At that time i pulled up in the turning lane and he was all the way to the side..i got out and walked towards him, he saw me and came running.. he said " bro you would not believe how hungry i am! " i said dude you enjoy! i turned around and while walking back to me car.. i looked at the people waiting around me and you should see the look on their faces.. it was priceless! even if the 26days has ended.. we need to still continue giving and changing this world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Baby Formula
KC, 35, Cooper City, US
On Saturday January 3rd, I was shopping at the Publix in Cooper City and purchased the necessities, which included a large container of baby formula. Yesterday, when i opened the plastic top of the formula, I was shocked to find a $5.00 bill with a gift revolution card. Having never heard of this, I came to the website and am overwhelmed at the kindness of people. I will continue this act of kindness the next time I see fit.
Thank you to whomever decided to share this movement with a total stranger.

19 students, 2 leaders, and 10
Mackey Student Homegroup, 17, Davie, US
Our student homegroup made quite an impact in the 25 days leading up Christmas, but we had one surprise still to come before the New Year! We promised to let you all know, so here it is...our secret surprise:
Janis Whipple is such an incredible person - she gives of herself even more than she has to give(often). She is our partner in leading a student small group of 25-35 teens and we all love her dearly. Throughout gift revolution, Janis went on all our crazy adventures with the kids, while also giving her time, service, and money to several other projects - she just never stops giving. We really wanted to do something special for her to let her know how very much we love her and appreciate her giving heart and adventurous spirit.
Janis lives on her own, but is NEVER home to take care of household chores, etc.because she is always giving to others. Janis'sister, Sharon, mentioned her carpets needed cleaning, and that where it all began...We decided that while she was out of town we would get the students together and "spring clean" Janis' house.
We emptied every room of the house and not only shampooed all the carpet, but cleaned each room from floor to cieling. We moved everything out of every room and sorted, dusted every nook and cranny, organized, mopped, vacuumed and shampooed all the carpet in her house. We found all her family photos (and other pictures/artwork) and hung them (we know how much she loves her family), we put up shelves, installed new doorknobs, hung a new cieling fan in her bedroom, put a new light fixture and faucet in her kitchen - we redecorated and gave her whole house a makeover with her existing furniture, art, and collectibles.
The kids worked extremely hard over the two days it took to complete the project and were incredibly proud of their work (almost as proud as we are of them!) - it was an amazing transformation and felt good to everyone to give back just a tiny piece of what Janis gives us all on a regular basis - joy in the knowledge we did something meaningful, from the heart, for someone we love dearly!

The Blanket Lady
Merritt Woody, 37, Little River SC, US
I enjoy making the no tie fleece blankets for friends and neighbors all the time. I decided to make a couple for the GiftRevolution and give them to someone I don't know. I took one in the Food Lion in NMB a couple weeks before Christmas in a bag with the card attached. I gave it to the man working in the produce dept. I think he was a little surprised. The second one I gave to a patient at the Doctors office and he was so thankful. It was such a great feeling to do this! I need more cards!
