Pass "IT" on

Manny and Nikki, 25, Sunrise, US

On our way to the "IT" book study at Sawgrass today, my fiancee and I bought a couple of trays of Christmas cookies at Target to take to the "IT" book study. We put them out along with the card. Needless to say, that we had plenty of cookies left over, so we took the rest of the cookies to the front desk attendants/staff, and gave it to them along with TGR card inside the cookie tray...they were thankful!

Love for all of God's creature

Anonymous, 35, Miami, US

I started praying about what my part in the Gift Revolution should be after hearing Pastor Troy's message about gift giving. My answer came in the form of a Miami Herald article. I took a slightly different approach and decided to help some of our four-legged friends. I mailed anonymous donations to several location animal rescue facilities. In the envelope was a money order, a short handwritten note and of course, the Gift Revolution card. Merry Christmas everyone!

San Juan, PR

Dulce, 42, Pembroke Pines, US

I travel for work so this is super easy for me, I have bought people breakfast at the airport, paid for their parking etc, etc. But this incident happened at a hotel I was staying and was train ing a customer service class the next morning. So I am having dinner, the restaurant was pretty empty, but here comes a lady guest of the hotel and sits at the bar across from my table. I heard her order the same soup I was enjoying and decided I wanted to pay for her soup. I called the server over and told him to put her soup on my tab and to give her the GRC, well it did not go well, this women turned around and started insulting me, she thought I was trying to pick her up!!! LOL Anyways the next morning during a class break, I was alone in the meeting room with one of the participants that decided to stay, and she is sharing with me the fact that she had given a family her X-mas tree & ornaments and how great she felt doing that, so a light bulb went off in my head and I asked " Can I share somthing with you"? and I explained the Gift Revolution to her and gave her a card, she was so exicted that when the rest of the class came in she asked if I could share it with them and gave them all cards, I did, and it turn out all these youngsters were christians and were thrilled with our revolution, so I am pretty sure they are doing great things in the island of Puerto Rico...

They make a difference

Jean Zampier, 66, Zephyrhills, US

I made Christmas breads and took them to the staff at a local nursing home where I visit every week. We also took a selection of homemade baked goods and fudge to the local librarians. My husband, Lou bought 5 Frostys at Wendy's for people behind him in line. He also delivered trays of goodies to a dozen neighbors.

Revolution Tree Night

Steve and Kirsten Patterson, 35, Cedarville, US

On Tuesday night my small group from Cedarville University did an amazing project. We started talking a few weeks ago about what kind of thing we could do as a group that would make a big impact in the community around us. We came up with an idea to give Christmas trees and all the trimmings to families near the University who were going through a rough time. We received some names from the local school district and set out to deliver 10 christmas trees with ornments, lights, star topper, and candy canes. We had no idea the impact that each family would have on us. We could literaly see hearts soften as they saw the big green trees that we brought into thier home. The children were all so excited to go through the gift bags and the candy canes were a huge hit. It was a night that we will all not forget, We met families with 8 children, one that just had a traumatic fire damage their home, a single dad, a mom who had never had a real tree before, and a family that had an ill child. With visiting ten families we did not have long at each home but we were able to spend some wonderful moments with each, they were able to tell us a little about themselves and we were able to share about the gift revolution. We gave them each a card and they said they would pass it on to others. When the caravan of cars arrived back on campus we were able to discuss how the night went and we all came back with some amazing thoughts and moments. I think this night forever changed each of us and I am so thankful that we had the opportunity to do it. Let the Revolution Roll On

The Blessing of Giving

Annonymous Giver, 53, Redding, US

Thank you my son. I would not have known of the Gift Revolution if not for you and Freedom Church. I have received the greatest joy giving out gifts and random acts of kindness. It's really been a blessing to be the giver, and giving annonymously is so much fun. I intend to continue the spirit of the Gift Revolution as much and as long as I can. I miss you and wish you were here, but you've given me such an awesome way to spread some cheer and good will. It's really sad to see how many people are suspicious of our kindness, and I pray that the Revolution continues to impact our world for Jesus.

Lunch

Steve Santiago, 31, Jacksonville, FL, US

This was my second attempt to pay for someone’s meal at a drive-thru. The first time, the place was empty, but not today. So I drive up to the window and I told the cashier I’d like to pay for the person behind me. As I handed him the card, he thought it was the neatest thing and I’m pretty sure the person behind me thought the same. It was such a great feeling just to give something to someone. I really wish I could afford to do much more, but who knows… that day may come sooner than later.

One small act

Truly Blessed, 32, Davie, US

I was at Michaels returning a product I bought earlier during the week. I had the receipt for it but I choose to use the money for a gift card instead for the lady behind me. I needed the money back but something just kept 'nudging' my heart to get the gift card and I did. In the last week I've been blessed three times as much as the gift card was worth! Every little bit I've gotten back , I've given to my tithes too. It's soooo funny how things work. I didn't know how I was going to put gas in my car or pay the light bill but the money for these things came along with one simple act of kindness.

You never know........

Gonzo, 39, Pembroke Pines, US

Last week I pumped gas as I do everyday for my equipment. I gave the clerk $20.00 to go to the next person coming in to fill there tank. The gentleman thought it was the coolest thing in the world, however he also thought I was nuts because no one gives free gas for no reason. He asked for my name and number to give the person receiving the gift. I explained to him that it was not about me and that all I needed him to do was give the person a TGR card. Again he reassured me I was nuts but agreed to do it. Today I walked in to buy ice for the water cooler and he immediately recognized and approached me to tell me about what happened the day I gave him the $20.00. Turns out the next person in was a single mom who came in everyday to pump $5.00 at a time cause it was all she could afford. Her son would beg everyday for a toy they were selling in the gas station but the mother told him there was no money and the boy would leave crying. On that day $20.00 not only filled her tank but it made a little boy very happy because on that day there was enough money to buy a simple toy he had been crying over for weeks. You never know how something so simple can impact someone else's day and maybe even their entire outlook on life.

Ice Storm 2006

Christy, 35, Springfield, US

Two years ago we had an incredible ice storm. We had no idea how long we would be out of power. Our area was the worst hit. We felt pretty fortunate because we have a wood burning fireplace to keep warm, so we put a couple of matresses on the floor in front of the fireplace and got all of our blankets out and we stayed fairly warm. We had friends and family that had power offer us a place to stay, get cleaned up and do our laundry, so every few days we would do that. As other friends began to get their power back on they would bring us their propane heaters and one even brought us his generator. What a blessing that was, we could watch TV. When we starterd running out of food we would eat out at the few places that had power and that was getting hard on the wallet since we were out of work for a few days. On the thirteenth day without power I was waiting in the parking lot for my husband to get out of work so we could go to lunch and this lady knocked on my window, warily I rolled it down and she asked me if I had any money so she could buy gas for her heater. How could I say no when so many people had blessed me with things during this difficult time, so I got into my purse and gave her my last $5 bill. She thanked me and went on her way. I don't know what she bought with that money, it was hers to do with what she wanted. I know God was with me that day, because when I got home from lunch I had lights and heat. Thank you God for all your blessings.

Breakfast on us

Lesley, 31, Jonesboro, US

Over the weekend a friend and I were eating at IHOP for breakfast. I had just unexpectedly dropped $100 on a new tire that morning and was feeling pretty bummed about it. As we were waiting for our order, I told my friend that I felt we needed to get someone's meal. We told our waitress what we were wanting to do and in turn she told the couple's waitress. We secretly watched as their waitress gave the card. They looked perplexed, but grateful. The next morning I went through McDonald's and paid for the car behind me. What an awesome feeling to give, without expecting anything in return.
