Meaningful Gift of Self Relian

Shannon, Mark, Brock, Blair Jo, 31, North Myrtle Beach, US

If there is one thing I could give to the struggling people of the world it would be self-reliance. Everyone deserves the dignity of providing for themselves and their families. That's why our family supports Heifer International. Because of the Gift Revolution we are going to give two animals this year. We are placing the TGR cards in there so they can pay it forward ... Peace be with you

Small Grp w/ a Cause

Summit, 35, Cooper City, US

On Tuesday night the Summit had a singles social Night of Friendship at FRC's Cooper City campus. We decided early on to ask everyone to bring a toy not knowing exactly where they would go. Not long after we started planning a woman spoke to a staff member at church. She said that she was starting a new life here in FL and did not know how she was going to afford presents for her children for Christmas. We immediately knew that she was the person that our event was meant to bless. And how she was blessed! We received an overflowing amount of toys! She was able to pick out toys for her kids and we had a box full left over to bless another family! These toys are HOPE for her and her family, part of a new beginning. So many times on this website we read how people have asked "God, who can I bless with this gift?" and He has filled someone's need through our hands. What an amazing gift to us that He uses us in that way! Join the Revolution... it is lifechanging!

Totally dupped

Glenia, 29, Hallandale, US

Hello Everyone, My name is Glenia I attend Flamingo Road church Hallandale !YAY! Love it! My children are Johnnie 13yrs Jasmin 8yrs and Junior 2 yrs, They are great kids. I am 29 yrs old and I work in a medical office in Aventura. We all have the Pleasure and Joy of doing life with the Flamingo family! So now that you know a little bit about us. Here's my awesome humungus God filled story. I just moved into a new apartment, and my friends at church were asking different things like what I needed and if I needed any help. So they are my friends right, so I thought nothing of it. Renee set me up! She asked if I could use a dresser bureau thing whatever. I said yes, and we planned on meeting at my apartment at around 6 pm on Tues 12/16. So as I am cooking dinner, doing the evening thing. Expecting Renee only. So I walk outside to check on my kids, and I see a caravan of cars! People I know! I'm like what is everyone doing her? Duh! When they finally park and get out! I got revolutionized! Thay have all these christmas gifts for the kids, Bed sheets and comforter sets, towels, christmas decorations, toys, oh man all kinds of gifts. They also gave us money and gift cards to differnt places. I am tearing up telling you this story, because I had to speak to my oldest son, and tell him that I had to get the little ones something for christmas because they wouldn't understand me being on a budget. So basically not to expect a christmas gift. That I would get him what ever he wanted when we got our taxes back in January. He is such a good boy that he was like ok mom I get it I understand. And my FRC family came through for us. Gods angels! He is so big, real and true! I am so humbled by this experience. It didn't even dawn on me that they would think of my family and I. Thank you all so much to those who were there, and took time out to Love on us and care for us. To those who couldnt make it, Thank you so very much for your genorosity and Love. My children are so grateful and have experienced the greatest Jesus christ birthday, ever. They got so much more than just gifts, they got that it's about giving of yourself to others, not just receiving. Thank you so much for not letting us do life alone! Love you all!

the Gift revolution is everywh

Jose Manuel DIaz, 48, Pembroke Pines, US

I work for Fedex, and last Friday I was at the corner of SW 8 St and 62 Ave waiting for the traffic light to change to green. When it did change to green I turned my eyes to the left side to check for any vehicle oncoming, when I noticed this UPS driver, who had left his truck, running towards my truck asking me to lower the window. When I open the door of my truck, he gave me this Orange Bowl badge, good for a dinner with coaches and good to enter the game. He said, "this is a gift for you". I have seen the guy, but do not know him. I imagine either, he comes to Flamingo Road Church, or has heard about the gift revolution, which is everywhere; thank God.

In our path

dorothy & james, 38, wasola, US

My husband had in his heart to get with some of our small group friends to pay for someone's electric bill that was soon to be terminated. When he told me of this, I was excited to do something that would be a huge blessing for someone during the holidays. Our small group friends weren't getting back with us on the matter & that was ok because we knew in our heart that God was calling us to do this. After a few days had passed, we both knew that the time had come. We went to the local city utilities office, & informed them of what had been laid upon our heart. We had no one particular in mind, just someone who was facing termination, they suggested that we get a name from our church. We knew that God knew who it was, & we were going to trust him to place that person in our path. So we went to the local electric co-op. There, they were reluctant to release any information of any kind. It was amazing to see the spirit of God softening her heart right before our eyes! The next thing we knew she was telling us that she didn't know how to pick someone, when there were so many facing termination. We told her to pick from the top, she said "from which pile, there's three." We let her know that God would direct her, and he did. Then she asked us how much we wanted to pay. When we told her all of it, she couldn't believe it, it seemed like she was trying to talk us out of it. We wrote the check for over six hundred dollars, & as we did the power of God was felt by everyone in that room, it was an experience none of us will ever forget! As we handed her the check she told us that this gentleman had been having some heart trouble, I rejoiced over knowing that God had used us to be his hands and feet!

Letting them know that someone cares about them is a great feeling. I know that we all CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE this CHRISTMAS season!

My Neighbors

Jewel and Earle Balkcum, 56, Ocean Isle Beach, US

About a week ago my neighbors called and wanted to know all the names of our grandchildren. It puzzled me,time went on an tonight we were very Blessed by Sonya and Peters gifts. We love the outdoors and yard work. I got sick about a year ago and cannot do yard work any longer. They both know how much I enjoy our yard and the garden. We have one of the most precious gifts anyone could ask for. Peter and Sonya walked in our home carrying two Lowes Food bags, in the bags were the most beautiful stepping stones I have ever seen. The Love was shinning from the bags as we looked inside. She made them herself and put each childs name on them with a picture that represented that child. Stones were placed on the top of each stepping stone. The colors, shapes, and design on each stone also represents that child. Each stone was made with lots of love, kindness, and truely from Her heart. I am sure she has put many long hours in each one. When I am gone from this wonderful place they will still shine with the love she put in the Gifts. This was truely a gift I will never forget as long as I live. John 15:12 says "This is my commandment that you shall love one another, as I have loved you". Sonya and Peter: Kathryn Wiesenhoefer says it right, this is to you both. Friends are a garden of flowers Grown in God's Eden of Love, they bring to each waiting tomorrow, A bit of His heaven above! So I treasure each friend that He sends me with kindness-devotion and care And know tht He lives in each friendship His love and His Blessing to Share! You both have inspired us. We want to say Thank You for being our friends and neighbor sharing the love of a special gift. All these blessings shall come upon thee and overtake thee, if thou, hear the voice of the Lord Thy God. Deut.28:2 Thank You Our Neighbors, We love you both.

We got gas!!

Tommy A., 35, Jonesboro, US

The other night we were at the gas station. We decided to give a gift to someone. We were wanting to do some things this year where we could involve our kids. We want to make sure they understand that the Christmas season is about much more than getting the presents you want. So we decided to pay for the person's gas that pulled up beside us. We unloaded the kids, walked over and told the young lady what we wanted to do. She was speechless! I inserted my debit card and told her to fill up. We told her "Merry Christmas", gave her the revolution card, and walked away. When we returned to our vehicle, my oldest son was so excited and said, "Look daddy pay for their gas too." He had caught the excitement of giving, and we hope that he carries it over into the life of his family one day. Don't let the revolution die at Christmas. After all we are celebrating the BIRTH of the Messiah on Christmas. May the gift revolution BIRTH in my family and yours the sacrificial way that christians should be living 365 days of the year.

Food to needy

Manny Garcia, 49, Miramar, US

Lat night I found a way to send groceries to loves one in cuba. By way of organization base in Canada called supermarketreew.com it was possible to hand deliver food to love ones in the insland. My Mom and Aunt have both been very concern with the fact that their brother and sister did not have much to eat. Once I check out the web site I took it upon myself to create 2 seperate grocery list of items which included meats, grains, poltry and many other. I spent a total of #310.00 dollars and with GOD help they will have a great christmas. Mind you I have not been working for over a year now, but they need it more than me. God bless everyone and merry christmas to all.

Pam's Love gift

Patrice, 60, Ava, US

During September, my son was involved in a motorcycle accident which left him in a coma and not any hope for recovery. I left my job to stay at his side, and prayed for his healing, and peace for our family. After the first two weeks he awoke slowly and started a very hard recovery from a traumatic brain injury. I received the gift of a haircut from a friend. It made my stress level drop in an instant, and let me concentrate on the therapy at hand. It wasn't about the cost of the haircut-but the love in which it was given. It had been a couple of months since I had been to her, and my funds were depleted for such frivolous things and I really just needed a friend. During the cut, we laughed and cried and I was able to voice my fears about my son's recovery, and we shared a hug. Since this gift, and with God's intervention, my son is retracing his steps as a child (he's 38 now) and learning to problem solve, and has learned to Praise God for all the miracles that we have been so blessed with in the past three months. We were given open eyes to see the miracles as they happened in patients around us and in my son. God bless this ministry and praise God's intervention to making these acts of kindness continue in the new year and throughout the coming times. We are so close to the trumpet sounding and love will be needed in those days more than ever before. What an amazing way to make people more open to witness for Christ. I thank you and I thank Pam, and send CHRISTmas to every heart.

Giving

Jo Ann, 41, Clinton, US

This really about my church which is a recovery church. My Pastor believes that God provides all we need and her does. We have a city wide garage sale every year in my home town. We also particate however we give everything away. Anything that has been donated free of charge. We also just began doing a free concert in out town square in the summer. free music, free food, and lots of love. We do not ever do fund raisers at our church because we know the God will provide all that we need. My friend told me about this revolution, which I told my Pastor about cause he has been part of this revolution since he started with 6 people in the back room of a garage, now we are several hundred strong and keeping with the revolution. God bless

Volunteer Work

Andrea , 20, Miami, US

I was working as a volunteer at Dolphin Stadium to raise money for my frisbee team. I had been working all day, from 9 am to around 5:30 that night, the entire time I had been on my feet, running throughout the entire stadium delivering drinks to all the suites. As I left to drive home, I realized I didn't have any cash to pay the tolls on the way back. Coming to the stadium I had gotten a ticket for it, and I quickly borrowed a dollar. I had only had to go through one toll to the stadium, I figured it would be the same going back. I was very wrong, luckily the first two tolls were only 50 cents each. When I drove up to the third toll, I had no idea what to do. I explained to the woman that I had been volunteering all day, and I was a college student and I never carry cash and I never go through tolls and I was incredibly sorry, but I couldn't afford another ticket. To this she responded, "well this is your lucky day" I thought she was just going to be nice and let me through, but instead she continued "there was a woman who came through here and said I want to pay for the next four people that come through, and when you let them through, give them this." With that, she handed me the gift revolution card and told me that I was the last one. I got to go through that toll for free, and despite the fact that I hit one more toll before I made it home, that card made the whole ordeal much less horrendous for me.

The Freedom of Giving

LSC, 51, New Market, MD, US

My daughter had told me about this site, and as I read the many experiences that people have gotten out of giving with this card, it made my heart sing. It seems like we are more into gadgets and have moved away from the human element of life. So, it is heartwarming to hear people getting excited when they actually interact with people. Among other things, I paid for a month's tuition at a martial school that my son used to attend, and asked the director to give it to any kid he knows would love it. I told him to clip thegiftrevolution card to the receipt for the parent. Life is good!

Special Friend.

A Friend, 47, Miami, US

It was going to be my pleasure to spend some time with a Friend I don't see enough of and to treat him to lunch. We met and had a great conversation about how things are going for him and how proud I am that he is following his goals and working so hard to achieve them. Near the end of the lunch I received a call and walked outside to take it. When I returned, we continued to talk for a few more minutes, and then I asked for the bill. I was told there was no bill, as Tito had already paid it. He just smiled and said it was his treat. This wasn't the first time he had done this to me. He is working full-time and going to school full-time, but still does Tons for his Friends and his Family. I have learned that arguing with him is useless, because he is as stubborn as I am. Thank you Tito, you are a great Friend who truly cares about others. You are one of a kind and a great Role Model for today’s youth!

Beautiful Dinner

Brittnee, 21, ft.Lauderdale, US

A group of us decided to throw a giant thanksgiving dinner for our friends on the street. We shared an outrageously good meal that night with AMAZING people (homeless and sheltered). I now read this literally: I was hungry and you fed me, I was thirsty and you gave me a drink, I was homeless and you gave me a room, I was shivering and you gave me clothes, I was sick and you stopped to visit, I was in prison and you came to me.' 37 -40"Then those 'sheep' are going to say, 'Master, what are you talking about? When did we ever see you hungry and feed you, thirsty and give you a drink? And when did we ever see you sick or in prison and come to you?' Then the King will say, 'I'm telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, THAT WAS ME—you did it to me.'

Publix Line

Paco C., 28, North Miami, US

I was in publix the other day in line paying for my groceries. I used a giftcard to pay for it. My total was less than what my giftcard was for. So I noticed the lady behind me was counting her money to make sure she had enough to pay for bill. I had about nine dollars and change left over on my giftcard. So I told the cashier to use it towards her bill. The lady was so happy and grateful. That was a nice feeling.

starbucks

becca, 33, Pembroke Pines, US

I was christmas shopping with my 2 year old daughter at the Pembroke Lakes Mall when I was supprised with the gift revolution. 2 year olds can make life a little stressful at times so, I ducked into Starbucks for a little pick me up. Waiting in line I was behind a women and her 2 older daughters, we chatted a little and then much to my suprise she offered to buy me a coffee. I was completely shocked! It's not often that you encounter kindness anymore. 5 minutes really made a difference in my day and I plan to do the same for someone else.
