Myself in the Mirror

Lisa , 43, Gallatin, TN, US

I was standing at the check out lane at Walmart trying to decide how I was going to bless someone for The Gift Revolution. I decided to get cash back, for a specific amount of money, and decide later how I was going share my Gift. As I was putting my groceries in the cart, I saw a lady behind me in line adding her food costs on her calculator. I could see myself doing that same thing just 5 minutes earlier, making sure I had a enough money for food and my gift. I was going to be short that week and as I looked at her, I knew she was the one who I was going to give my Gift to. I could see myself as if I was looking into a mirror. I gave her the money and told her to use it toward her groceries and this was a Gift. I not only walked away blessing her but in a reflection of myself I was blessed, too.

Denny's!

David Metellus, 20, Boca Raton, US

I woke up today feeling pretty down and out, even though I had just gotten paid it was still a bit drab. So I went to Denny's to have some breakfast and read the news online. Right across from me were two men I hadn't seen before but would soon impact my morning. So I ate my meal and proceeded to go pay. When I reached in my pocket I realized that I only had my temporary check card that I had just got the day before and it always gives me problems when I'm tryig to pay. I still tried to use it and needless to say it didn't fail to fail me. Completely embarassed and stuck at the checkout line in the restaurant I asked about nearby ATM's and offered to leave my keys as I go make a withdrawal. While asking about it one of the gentlemen came up and gave his card and said" I'll pay". I figures he was talking about his own meal, and I found it a bit rude that he cut in to pay for his meal before my issue was resolved. After clarification the cashier explained that he said he'll take care of it. That was truly a phenomenal act of kindness and it reinforces my feeling of hope for America. After I thanked him, I started to walk out towards my car; when I almost reached my car he came up from behind me and said just do me one favor, to to thegiftrevolution.com. HERE I AM!!

Making a difference

Rita, 38, North Myrtle Beach, US

My day started out hectic you could say..I had 20 gifts to wrap then I had to go to the UPS store and mail them all of to family in Iowa..So I got the all wrapped and put them in the 3 boxes, loaded the car my oldest daughter and I were in the car backed out of the garage and the door wouldn't close..I GOT OUT AND TRIED AND TRIED TO CLOSE THIS GARAGE DOOR!!! I was getting so mad..I was hungry, had to go to two malls, ups store, and this door was giving me fits..I finally got the door to work..But not without being in such a bad mood that I couldn't stand myself..I get to the Ups store and ofcourse there is a line..argg..There was this little old lady making a million copies of something and humming Christmas songs..Oh my that really helped my mood..haha...I got all three boxes finally mailed, then we went and ate..mind you knowing this whole time that I needed an attitude check and that I had gift of revolution cards in my purse but doing nothing with them... So we get to the first mall and we go into Dressbarn there is this mother and her teenage daughter and her 3 or 4 your old daughter in the line in front of me paying the cashier..I start talking to the little girl and ask her what she wants for christmas she states "presents" My daughter and I laugh at how cute she is..The Mother pays for her coat and right then and there God spoke to me and said Rita the card..So I reach and my purse grab a card and 20.00. I hand the Mom the card and the money..she looked at it and kindly smiles with total amazement in her eyes and says huh? I say it's a thing that my daughter's chruch is doing..She thanked me and said that to her little girl come on lets go buy you something...The cashier was in pure amazement so i gave her a card as well..After I paid for my products, the cashier came around and said that was so nice of you and gave me the sweetest, best hug that I so much was in need for...As I am typing this the tears are rolling down my cheeks for the gratitude that I have for God and my daughter Marisa Gregory for showing me this awesome church that I am now going to go to every sunday, and for her awesome love of Christ! So in closing I may have made that woman and cashier feel much better, but I want to thank them for bringing me closer to where I needed to be with the Lord...Thank you..I am so Sorry for such a long stoy, but sometimes you just have to get it all out...:)

Revolution in the Laundromat

Larry G. Next Level Church, 40, New Port Richey, US

This wasn't my idea. Dave from Next Level mentioned it and I felt it was a grand idea. I am lucky enough to have a washer/dryer. I have also had to stand in the laundromat doing laundry. Not so fun. Today, while on a test drive at work, I stopped by the local laundromat (Wesley Chapel, FL area) to revolutionize it. As I walked in, I spied a gentleman near the door waiting for his laundry to be done. Being a little cool today (mid 40s), he was a bit chilled by the weather, too. I asked how much it was costing him to do his laundry. It was $8.75. I promptly dropped 10 singles on the washer and told him it was on me today. I left him a TGR card and wished him a Merry Christmas. The look of shock was one of those Master Card priceless moments. The Revolution is on in Wesley Chapel and New Port Richey!!!!

A Little Kentucky Fried Christ

Pastor K, 33, Lewisburg, KY, US

There's going to be a huge stereotype proven in my story...because this preacher stopped for fried chicken on the way home (see, told ya) and opened a little Gift Revolution, Kentucky Fried style. This was my second card of the day. I purchased a tank of gas for a traveling couple from Ohio in Franklin, KY, on their way to see their son in Columbia, TN. But this one was cool tonight. When I paid for my family's meal, I was using a debit card and I asked her...what's the price on the next car's order? When the window cashier told me, puzzled she asked why...and I said because I want to pay for it. "Now, here's the deal. You just need to do one thing for me. Tell him his order is paid, and then give him this card. That's it." It was hilarious! I loved it! She shut the window, and suddenly there were three ladies all talking about me and looking out the window. I wish I had this on video! I just smiled and waved and they gave me that real uncomfortable wave back like, "this guy is a little messed up." HA! When she opened the window after running my card for the second time, she said, "that's really nice. Why are you doing this?" When I told her, I said "you think it's cool, too, right? It's called The Gift Revolution. Give him one card, and you take this one. Go home, check out the website, and tomorrow I promise you'll give this card to someone else when you do for them what I did for him. Thank you, be blessed, have a good night, and I'm going home to eat some chicken!" As I pulled away, I saw the guy start to hand his cash out the window and then pull it back. She pulled it off! The Revolution is on in Southern Kentucky, baby! Our church will get the launch Sunday morning...we have a short time, but lots to be done! P.S. I'm stuffed. And it was extra crispy, in case you're wondering.

Silver Necklace

Tom, 38, Davie, US

This morning I went to the McDonalds drive through for breakfast. Instead of gifting the car behind me, I gave the girl working the drive-thru a silver necklace. It was a bit unusual, and I could tell she was puzzled. She did not know what to say or do, she just froze until I started to drive away. I that point, I saw her begin to dash back towards the kitchen, where I think she was running to tell someone about the crazy thing that just happened. I hope she checks out this site, figures it out, and joins the revolution!

I was working my shift at my job when one of the guests who i had let in earlier came back with a bag of mcdonalds...i secretly craved it and to my surprise i see the bag being handed to me. The lady told me that her husband had worked security for many years. It really added to my already awesome day and I made sure everybody who I came in contact with felt the quiet joy around me.

AFTERCARE SNACKS

Ginnie on behalf of Alec my 9 , 42, Davie, US

My son Alec (9 years old) and I were watching Pastor Troy on television talking about the gift revolution. When the service was over Alec commented that he wanted to make a difference, so after brainstorming he came up with purchasing snacks for some of the kids in his aftercare program. When he went to aftercare the next day he took an extra 10 dollars and told the counselor that he wanted to give that money for the next 10 students. He had such a great outcome that one of the kids receiving a free snack wanted to buy something for my son. He was really happy when we picked him up from aftercare and told me that it felt great.

Zach Nash, 17, Ava, MO, US

Frist of i want to say what a great thing the gift revolution is. A month or so ago, one of my best friends hurt his arm pretty bad. He has to have surgery on it. so one day while i was hangin out at his house, i rembered what my youth paster had said about the the gift revolution and it just so happened that he had to go some where for awhile. while he was gone i cleaned his whole house for him. then i left a card a few bucks for him to get a little more gas, and walked home. when he got home he called me and tolled me how greatful he was for something so simple. he said that he couldn't wait to go out and help somebody else like i helped him. I told him not to thank me but to thank god. i was only doing what i was told. zach nash

Helping Others With Peace of M

Susie Dickinson, 60, Cooper City, FL, US

Two single moms from Broward County recently joined our company as independent business owners so they could supplement their income while working from home on a part-time basis. While they are both motivated to learn all they can about the company and how to become successful both are struggling financially at this time. Knowing the importance of attending regional conferences to help with knowledge about our services, personal development and self confidence, I invited both of them to be my guests when our company had such an event this week in Orlando. I offered to drive them there and to cover their expenses for the trip. During this event they were able to see how people from all walks of life were able to work from home and build a residual income doing so. One of them, Jackie, said she felt the trainer was talking directly to her when he talked about lying awake at night worrying how she was going to provide for her children and her future. Afterward she said she knows she can do this and will work to get it done, giving her the peace of mind of knowing how she can provide for their future. It was heart warming to hear how offering this gift will effect the lives of her family and other families in the future as she offers others those same gifts. Praise the Lord!!

Starbucks Suprise

Robert, 46, Tampa, US

I went into Starbucks to work on a Word.doc with plans for a drip coffee to stay in budget. I tasted the Mint Mocha sample and thought I will do this as a Christmas treat - so I ordered a double tall Mint Mocha and it was paid for by a previous customer. They only asked that I be given the gift revolution card. This was a bright light in my day. Many thanks! Robert

Proud Parent

Dennis, 46, Ava, US

My wife and I have a 17 year old son who works at wal-mart pushing carts inside. As a senior in high school he is always short on money and long on expences. Even though he has heard me and his mom talk about the blessings we get from doing something for other people, he has never took part in TGR. Tuesday while on my way to Wal-Mart I was trying to think of something I could do for someone when all of a sudden it hit me."Do it for the cart pusher."I wraped a $5 around a TGR card, and as I went past, I handed it to my son. He looked at me very shocked and said "what do I do now?" I told him it was his gift and do whatever felt right to him. Thursday he went to the orthodontist for a check-up, and when he left he gave the cashier $20 and a card for someone who needed it. When he told me that, I was shocked to say the least, but very proud. When he went to work Friday morning he found out that he had won a $25 gift card from Wal-Mart. He called us immediately and was very proud and excited. Now he can't wait to pass on the blessing he received.

Received a Gift

Cindy Taylor, 44, Zephyrhills, US

Hi my name is Cindy and I received a Revolution Gift on Friday December 5, 2009 when I went to my hair place to get my hair done. Ashley (my favorite beauty girl) told me that she had a surprise for me when we were done. Keep in mind, she is very aware of all the hard times I have had for the past year and half. I had no idea what it could have been (cause good things don't happen often). But when we were just about done someone let the beans out of the bag and told me that my entire hair treatment was paid for by the guy before me. I was like NO WAY. She said yeah and she was glad it was me (because of the hard times). Needless to say I was extremely excited as I was considering cancelling the appointment because I really didn't have the money especially with the holidays. So I believe it was some kind of fate that made me keep my appt and go do something nice for myself. I truly thank the person that did this for me. I am a firm believer in the pay it forward theme. I always like doing things for other people. I try to go the extra mile and it doesn't always including money, but just listening or helping. I plan on keeping on doing this, and I spread the work about my experience because good things to happen when you least expect it. Thank you Jacob from this church in Zephyrhills.

The Gift of Feeding Children

Julie, 38, Weston, US

My gift revolution is the gift of feeding starving children in Haiti. My family and I donated money, as well as over 200 lbs. of rice and beans to feed the kids at Danita's Children Hope for Haiti foundation. My best friend, Danita, had gone to the Dominican Republic 10 years ago as a translator with a team of doctors. She was eating lunch at a cafe on the border of Haiti. She saw children eating out of a garbage can and then a man came up and began to beat them. Her life has never been the same since. She vowed that she would make a difference. She now has an orphanage and a church in Haiti where she feeds and schools 570 children on a daily basis. This Christmas, more than ever, children in Haiti are in need of our support. Daily living in Haiti when times are "good" is incomprehensible to us. Since the devastating hurricanes, life in Haiti has worsened dramatically and due to the troubling economy, donations have significantly decreased. Support is needed now, more than ever. If you would like to also give the gift of feeding children this year and/or lending support to building a medical center or sponsoring a child, please got to www.danitaschildren.org and give hope to Haiti this Christmas and beyond. God Bless~

A WalMart Trip Turned Around

Dani Ball, 33, Zephyrhills, FL, US

Well, I had a bit of a stressful grocery trip ahead of me this morning and WalMart's aisles were packed to the gills with people filling their carts. Two hours in to my shopping trip I was frustrated, hungry, and ready to check out. I headed to a lane, checked out, and then went to the McDonald's that is in the store. I ordered a cheeseburger, an iced tea and a $5 gift card. We are a bit strapped for cash this year, but I wanted to do a little something. When I gave the gift card back to the McDonald's cashier and asked her to give this to the next person in line she just looked at me. I had to explain it a couple of times to her. The cashier next to her got it and used it to pay for her customer's order (an older gentleman's food- which was only like $2), so they were going to use the rest of the gift card for the next person who came up to the counter. So I actually got to help out two people. The cashier was really stunned. She said she had NEVER had anyone do that before and how nice that was of me to do that just because. As I turned the corner to go and fill up my cup with iced tea, the older gentleman that I had paid for came up to me, thanked me and wished me a Merry Christmas. It was a great feeling. I thought that only having a few dollars to spare wasn't going to make an impact, but I was proven wrong. I ended up impacting the workers at that Walmart's McDonalds, that gentleman, and whoever ended up getting the rest of that gift card. It was amazing...It was a great way to end a stressful shopping trip at Walmart.
