Hugs

Jessica {Jess}, 14, Little River, US

My friend was feeling down so I talked to her and stuff. Later on when we were done talking a gave her a hug to make her feel better. After that I gave her advice and said everything will be alright. She gave me a hug back and thanked me for being there when she needed someone the most.

A Message from God

Madeline, 41, Pembroke Pines, US

I was just finished filling up my gas tank at Costco when I noticed a man, maybe in his late twenties or early thirties, sitting on a curb holding a sign indicating that he was homeless. I remembered Troy's request to keep an eye out for an opportunity to help someone and immediately felt a need to go and help the man. Instead of exiting the shopping lot, I made a U-Turn and went back to where the man was sitting. I only had five dollars on me so I rolled down my window and handed it to him with a card. The look that he gave me broke my heart and I will never forget it. His eyes spoke to me. It was as though the gesture had given him hope in a horrible time in his life. It was a look of desperation mixed in with gratitude, so strong that it made me pray for him in tears. As I exited the parking lot I glanced back through my side mirror and saw him reading the card. I pray that he found a way to visit the website as a start to getting reconnected with God.

Thanksgiving gift

Danielle Scardua, 25, Davie, US

I am a volunteer at a hospital and I volunteered on Thanksgiving day. I wanted to give something to the patients who were there and could not go home for Thanksgiving but I didn't have money to buy a gift to all of them. So I went online, printed some Thanksgiving jokes and tongue twisters and went in the patients' rooms and told made them smile ( and laugh!) That was my best Thanksgiving ever!!!

X2

Vicky, 44, Ava, US

I've only been a couple of places this week where I was able to give, first was at a local eating place were I was able to give a little extra tip along with a Revolution Card, and then at Mickey D's in Seymour. Even though my daughter is 24 she still gets a little giddy when we are able to do this. She loves the idea of being able to show God's love to someone in such a simple way as an act of buying dinner at a fast food place. As they say "I'm Lovin' It". Hope this continues on way after Christmas is over.

Who Gave to Who?

Eric, 40, Sunrise, US

Over a month ago, our van bumper and tailgate were damaged in a fender bender. Shortly after, a young man rang our doorbell asking if he could fix our van, right there in our driveway. He seemed like a nice kid, but my wife and I figured we would just let the insurance take care of the repair for us. It wasn't critical for driving, so we let it go for a while. Sure enough, after the big announcement of TGR by Pastor Troy, the boy came back with his father the day before Thanksgiving. My wife had them fix the van and had started talking to them about Flamingo Road Church. The father asked us if that was the guy he always saw on TV wearing the crazy clothes. We both laughed and said, "Yes! That's him!" Before we knew it the van was finished, but our conversation wasn't. The man and his son were both looking for work by driving around neighborhoods looking for damaged cars. They don't have steady jobs and weren't sure how they were going to buy their turkey for Thanksgiving. We were able to bless them by paying them to fix our van. We also invited them to FRC the next Sunday, and the father and his wife joined us and were tickled pink that they were able to finally go to the church with the pastor that wears crazy clothes! (Don't worry, Troy, they like your teaching, too!) The ironic part about the whole story is that they ended up becoming a huge blessing to me and my wife as well. We took them to lunch after church and ended up beginning a new friendship with people we more than likely would never have crossed paths with had we not allowed them to come and fix our van. The new relationship inspired me to do more for The Gift Revolution, so the next day I paid tolls for the next 10 people behind me and left 10 cards with the toll booth worker to hand out to them. Now, both my wife and I are looking for more ways to spread the Gift Revolution around! Go God!

1st opportunity

T K S, 34, Sunrise, US

Our family has been struggling greatly in the financial department and haven't been able to pay the mortgage, but when the spirit of fear tries to come in I remember that God takes care of the lillies of the field and won't let me down. Today when I went to make my kids lunch, I realized I had nothing to feed them. My husband and I discussed it and decided we were going to have to pick something for each of them off the $1 menu at Burger King as we were late for an appointment. When I got there, I decided to forego drinks to save money and prayed the kids wouldn't complain about being thirsty. As I was driving around to the window to pay, I unmistakenly felt the Lord leading me to buy the lunch of the people behind me...I hesitated as we've been living off our credit cards for the past 2 years (major cuts at my husbands job, decreasing our pay considerably). But the Lord was clearly telling me to do it. When I glanced in my rear view mirror I saw a gorgeous black Mercedes with dark tinted windows and my flesh said..."are you serious God, clearly they don't need this." But immediately God compelled me not to even ask the total but to pay for their order. I did so and charged it while the cashier looked at me like I'd lost my mind and I asked her to give the card to the car behind me along with the paid receipt(It happened to be about twice what ours was). I could see in my rearview window as she did it snd could only see the reaction of the person's hand as they reached out the window, but I was overcome by the overwhelming excitement and joy that God knows the whys of it all and I don't need to ever know how it did or did not impact whoever was in that car, but I was faithful to his voice and it truly impacted my life in a way I may never be able to describe. My kids were in the back seat saying "Why Mommy, we needed that money." I took the opportunity to tell them that God takes care of our needs every month even when we get scared. I told them each month I am excited to see how God will provide for the next month. They started to get excited, too. I don't know how many times I will be able to do that particular thing, though I know it is small in comparison. But, I am so eager to hear God leading me in the next "gift revolution" task. I'm just looking for ways to make people smile!

The Gift of Revolution hits ri

Villar family , 31, hollywood, US

My husband and I just started a catering company and we decided to give the profits from a Christmas catering job to my mother in law in Peru (that's where we were born) so that she can give at least 10 people $20.00 so that they can afford to buy their kids a toy and maybe some delicious food. We are also going to send my uncle Edgar who livesin Peru and has a dairy farm $50.00 so that he can buy extra goodies and gifts when he has his next luncheon for a group of orphanage that regularly visits him to get milk eggs and cheese. He is a great man and we know that with the $50.00 we will be able to multiply his offering to thos kids. God is so good and amazing the gift that he gives us does not compare to what we do but at least we can show the world that Christians are not perfect but we are willing to work hard to become better and help others to see Gods mercy, strength and hope. I am personally forever grateful for he has blessed me with a fantastic husband adorable girls and a great Church that I can now call home.

THE TOOL BOX!!

Manoele Freitas, 30, Coconut Creek, US

My story is: I'm originally from Brazil and have been living in the States for 20 years now. Only this year I made a decision to go visit my family in Brazil that I haven't seen in 20 years. I promised my self that I would not delay this trip any longer NO MATTER WHAT. I only have 1 grandmother left and she is 86 already and I thought with myself that if I don't get there soon I will regret it. Been that my mother died before meeting my daughter it's very important to me that at least my grandmother meets her. So it seems that after I made this commitment our financial situation got very tight. So what I decided to do was then to sell some stuff we had in order to buy those plain tickets(2). So my husband had a TOOL BOX and I putted for sale on Craigslist. I posted the tool box for $85 and I had tons of emails inquiring about it. One buyer said he will be in the area today in a job interview and he would like to look at it, so I called him and said yes I can show it today, However all of the sudden my husband tells me that I the tool box was not $85 but $150. I said Great that means more money towards my plain ticket. So I called the guy back and told him that there’s been a mistake and that it costs $150 and not $85. He said he was tight and that he did not have that money so I told him I would do it for $125. He came he looked at the TOOL BOX and he said ok I like it I will go and try to get the rest of the money and I will come back if I can come up with the rest of the money. Looking at his truck I noticed he was in desperate need of that TOOL BOX since his tools were all over on the back of his truck. Later in the day he called me and said he was able to get the rest of the money and that he would like to buy it. I told him to meet me at 5pm. I was so happy. On my way God nudged me and said "Here is your opportunity of The Gift Revolution". Which I haven't even give any thought yet as of that moment. I said "OK", however thinking about my plain ticket. So when I got there he pulled out the money and I pulled out the CARD and I told him. It's yours for FREE. God told me to GIVE IT to you. He stuttering and looking at the card and said" but I don't understand, don't you even want $25?" I said NO take the TOOL BOX and the $125.00. I have to say that yes it was $125 less towards my plain ticket, however if I had to do it all over again I would, even if it means not going where I have been waiting 20 years to go. The awesome part of it is that the buyers name was "JESUS". Thank you Flamingo and Pastor Troy! Manoele

The groceries

Emmanuel "Manny" Rivera, 25, Doral, US

I have been praying for God to just present opportunities for me to give, and today he gave me an opportunity. I have to admit that I was nervous, but it was so worth it. So, I was in line at Publix, and I only bought some stuff to make Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches for myself. I paid for my few items, and then this guy was in line behind me, and I always pay for everything on credit card so that I can get bonus points, and just pay the bill online the next day. So, I wasn't able to get cash back and give him money, so what I did was I just stood there with my bag as the lady finished scanning his items. I then took my credit card and put it through the scanner, and told him I was paying for his groceries. He stood back and was like "what", and I said, "Merry Christmas", and gave him "TheGiftRevolution.com" card, and told him to check out the site. He was in shock, but he managed to somehow say thanks. He walked behind me as I paid for it, and took his bags and walked out looking at the card. I think he wanted to leave before I changed my mind...I was nervous at first, but my feeling afterwards were "wow", thanks God for allowing me to bless someone...who will you bless now?

My gift

Kari, 20, Ava, US

I work at a local fitness center and we recently raised our rates $5.00. There is this lady who always comes in to work out of a morning and when she found out about the rates being raised she was worried she wouldn't be able to afford it since she lives on a fixed income. Monday when she came in she asked if she could pay me in a couple of days and I told her that her fee had already been covered . She asked how and I simply told her that the gift revolution had paid for her membership. She looked at me funny cause she knew what I meant and then gave me a huge hug. I told her to pass it on and she said she would!

Starbucks in Green Cove Spring

Bryan Lamoureux , 31, Orange Park , US

Today was filled with Gift Revolution giving that started at Starbucks in Green Cove Springs, FL. Renee and I purchased the next 5 customers drinks and had the cashier anonymously give the gift rev cards. We also hit up the Micky D's Drive thru cashiers at Window 1 and 2 with separate gifts. Giving has always been a huge apart of our lives but this is a blast! Let God be glorified as the gifts keep flowin' ...

Spreading Seeds

Lacy F, 24, Miramar, US

So last week I had to travel to Iowa to visit my family for Thanksgiving. It gave me a wonderful opportunity to spread some TGR cards around! I paper-clipped a dollar & a little note saying "pay it forward" to the cards and left them at the various airports, a few places I went in Iowa and even my cab driver! How great to be able to spread the TGR love around some other areas of the country!

I got out of my car and thanked her. When I got home I went to check out this website. This is awesome!

Pay it Forward

Don, 57, Scottsville, US

While going out to lunch at the drive through today, I gave an extra 5 bucks to the lady and asked that she put it toward the lunch of the next car that came through. I asked her to also give them the card and to pay it forward with an act of random kindness to someone else. There were no other cars behind me at the time, so I have no idea who received the card. I just pray that it put a smile on their face and they put a smile on someone elses.

The Haircut :)

Debbie, 48, Arlington, US

My sister, Barbara, who lives in Ft.Lauderdale, shared with me here in Texas about the church's invitation to "give to someone" you don't know! Ever since she shared this with me about a week ago, it's been on my mind & today, my husband, who has Alzheimer's, went for a haircut with our hairdresser. After she was finished with my husband, I told her I wanted to pay for the person after us ~ I then told her the story of "the gift revolution" and she thought it was so neat!! She also told me that she would call me later because she wanted to tell me something about what I had done. Well, she just called, and what she said was "The person YOU paid for is the daughter of someone who has Alzheimers too"!! God is so AWESOME! Who knew, except HIM, that the person HE chose to receive the gift would be in some way in the same boat that our family is in with this dreaded disease!! God is always Faithful to us, and continues to be in large and small ways. We are blessed!! Merry Christmas!!
