Language Barrier

RevolutionChick, 34, NMB, US

So I went to get some lunch at the local WalMart. Felt it in my spirit to get a gift card for someone. Not sure who, but I felt lead to do it. So I find a gift card that says Merry Christmas (shaped like a present, big red bow) and I paid a little extra for a really cool gift card box. Again, red with a white bow. I paid for my stuff and walked up and down the check out stands to find "who" I was supposed to give this to. Didn't feel it. So as I was walking to my car, that I momentarily lost, I prayed and asked God to make it clear who I was supposed to give this gift to. I saw many people walking through the parking lot to head into WalMart, and I felt nothing. So I was more specific and asked God to make my heart jump when the receiver was in my view. So I started driving around the parking lot. I turned out of the aisle that I parked in and down another and "JUMP" there they (a hispanic man, his wife with their little girl bundled up in her momma's arms) were. It's was interesting because they tried to avoid me, they walked in between some cars. I stopped my car right there and chased them down. I said excuse me, excuse me. The man said, "Como?" I said, it's for you. He said, "Huh?" I said, it's for you, put it in his hands and walked away. I didn't know how to say in spanish, someone told me to give this to you. I hope that they were blessed. It wasn't much, but hopefully it helped. God is so awesome and I love being a part of his greater vision.

Starfish

Hannah , 17, Greenville , US

Once a man was walking along a beach. The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day. Off in the distance he could see a person going back and forth between the surf's edge and and the beach. Back and forth this person went. As the man approached he could see that there were hundreds of starfish stranded on the sand as the result of the natural action of the tide. The man was stuck by the the apparent futility of the task. There were far too many starfish. Many of them were sure to perish. As he approached the person continued the task of picking up starfish one by one and throwing them into the surf. As he came up to the person he said, "You must be crazy. There are thousands of miles of beach covered with starfish. You can't possibly make a difference." The person looked at the man. He then stooped down and pick up one more starfish and threw it back into the ocean. He turned back to the man and said, "It sure made a difference to that one!" We can change one life at a time. Praise Him.

CArolyn, 57, Gallatin, US

I went through a chick-fil-a drive this morning and as I was getting ready to pay God whispered use one of your Gift Revolution cards. I told the person at the drive thru, "I want to pay for the person behind me also and you have to give them this card" he smiled and said "OK" then I drove off smiling. Can't wait to use my next Gift Revolution Card. Thanks Freedom Church for this opportunity to give to others.

Spreading Northward

Randy and Kim Kiriluk, 52, North Myrtle Beach, US

Well, we live in North Myrtle Beach and attend Barefoot, but we are trying to spread the revolution northward, to the little town of Tabor City, NC, where I practice medicine. So far we have paid for lunch at Burger King for the folks behind us, bought some gas for the next person into the Quick Market, and treated our office manager to breakfast. I don't know about the recipients, but this is pretty awesome for the "revolutionary". At this point we are trying to come up with or borrow some of your more novel ideas.

Left Over Miricle =)

Meagan Debeay, 23, Cooper City, US

So, Elevate is so awesome. We had a Thanks Giving Celebration last night. Tons of good homemade (and not so homemade) food. hmmm hmmm...Yummy! With all the food we had, there were tons of left overs. So, we made (my guess ) about 80 Plates of food or so and then went to various places to give to the homeless. It's such a blessing that God provides us with such an abundance that we are able to give away so much to others. God is so awesome!

Breakfast for one and then som

Jena, 43, Deerfield Beach, US

I work at a hotel and Denny's shares the property with us. I went in today and looked around to see if God wanted me to pay for someone's breakfast. Well there was a man sitting all alone, who looked a little stressed out. I gave the manager who was at the front register a $20 bill and 2 Gift Revolution cards. I asked her to please use it to pay for his breakfast and give him one of the cards. And then give the server the remaining money for her tip along with the other Gift Revolutoin card. She did so, except she took out the 20% only for the server and came over to the hotel side to give me change. I asked her to please give the rest of the money to the server as her tip. She was shocked...she said but the bill was only $9.00..you want me to give the server $11.00 for her tip..I said yes, just ask her to join the REVOLUTION!!! This is soooo cool!!! I love it!!!

Missed The Bus

Gonzalo, 39, Pembroke Pines, US

I was at the gas station filling the trucks and machines to get to work. I walked back inside to give the guy $10 and a card to go to the next person filling up. He looked at me as if I had 3 heads but agreed to it. As I was walking out a young man ran passed me with a back pack and yelling at the school bus which had just turned the corner and was now a block ahead of him. He turned around in defeat and met with his cousin who was running right behind him and together they started to walk back home. I asked if they missed their bus and they replied with a sad look "Yes we did". I asked them if they wanted me to take them and they hesitated and said yes. As I drove them to school we talked about church and school and their plans for the future. I gave them "The Gift Revolution" card and asked them to do the same for someone else and with a huge smile on their faces they said God Bless and walked into school earlier than if they had taken the bus. I actually felt better about that than leaving the $10. It's doesn't have to cost anything to make a difference in someone else life.

Little Miracles Each Day

Natalia Barrera, 27, Pembroke Pines, US

I truly believe in this series. For one reason... everyone has bad days but when someone randomly does nice things for them, they turn bright and turn it upside down..... I started my revolution on Sunday. I was at La Granja and I left $5 for the person behind me... they were a bit hesitant but i think they took it. I also heard that a fellow student was applying at my job and I put a very good word for her and asked for her to call me so I can get her in contact with HR. I also heard someone at work was looking for a place to live and i grabbed some numbers so she can call. I hope everyone gets hit by the revolution..... we all need it..... Thank you for letting me be a part of this. Natalia

A Simple Start

Erin J., 25, Sunrise, US

After leaving my Saturday night service at FRC, I felt inspired. I knew that when i got home I had to do something to spread the news of the gift revolution. My husband and I are part of an on-line gaming group that allows us to connect with people around the world. In a simple start to spread the news about this, i told the people in our group about this and gave them the website link. The following Monday I was driving home from a doctors appointment and there was a person on the side of the road asking for money. Normally I would drive by them with out a second thought,as in my house we sometimes have to rob from Peter to pay Paul and make the ends meet. But that day took the last couple of dollars I had on me and put it into the mans jug. I didn't have a card on me to give him. But I knew that, while it was my last few spending dollars, this man that had nothing needed it more than I need my iced latte from Dunkin Doughnuts.

Oil Change smile!

Ryan Pippin, 27, Orlando, US

Our (at dodge) oil change sticker printer shorted out when we had a bad rain storm a few months ago, and we've had to write out the oil change reminder stickers. I looked at one I was writing up, and added "have a great day : ) " on the bottom where there is a little room, just to try to brighten someone's day a little bit. I just had a lady come back to my work bay/area and give me a big hug and say "thank you very much for that hand written have a good day sticker, it's made my day!" and I was confused, because I hadn't done any oil changes today... turns out this woman lives on the other side of town, and was over here on business, and got her oil change monday, when I started writing it. She was back on this side of town, and she said she had to come back and say thank you because any time she's in the car and having a bit of a bad day, she looked at the sticker and gets a smile.

The gift of a second chance

JoAnne Hahn, 38, Hollywood, US

My story is pretty short. I turned to drugs after my father died, to take away the pain and the visions in my head. He was the first person that I lost, in which I had attended the viewing and funeral. I have had others close to me pass, but it was far away in Canada where my parents were born. Not seeing them get sick and not attending their funeral because I was either in school or too young, helped me get through it better. This time was different. I took his death very, very hard. I made a poor decision and turned to something bad to make it all go away. What that in turn did was make my husband and I lose our home, sell everything we cherished that was of value and separate us from our family. We stole money to buy drugs and we moved from place to place, job to job, not knowing where we would end up next. All this within 3 small years. When all hope was lost, we drove down to my husband's parents home and asked if we could stay the night because we had no where else to do. That was almost a year ago. Not only have they taken us in, but they fed us and gave us everything we needed to get a leg up and move passed the dark cloud that surrounded us. We have jobs for more than 6 months and we are actually contributing to the family household instead of being a burden. It came at a time where my mother in law was out of work because of a lung tumor and she is still not able to care for herself. My father in law works full time and can't make ends meet by himself, as well as take care of the house and his wife. A family of four is what it takes to make it in today's economy and we all are making ends meet because of each other. All I have to say is Thank GOD for people out there that allow others to come in from the dark and show them how to see the light. I will be forever in their debt.

This is SO Much FUN!

Kevin & Tami Waterman, 35, Pembroke Pines , US

We have had so much fun looking for opportunities to give a gift. This is a catch up post of sorts listing the gifts we've been nudged to give... Pre-launch - Friday before the big launch at Flamingo Road Church... I was shopping at a local vendor for the Source (FRC's Campus Store) and the lady who helps me get my order together told me about another young lady that works there and doesn't have a church home yet. She introduced me to her and I told her a little about my AWESOME church and invited her to the launch weekend! I had a promo worship CD with 3 songs that our AMAZING Mag Team produced to last year to use for gifting throughout the year. I gave her that CD with our service info jotted down and tucked inside. I also gifted the sales lady that helps me get my order ready, she often admires the jewelry I wear that we sell at the SOURCE and that day I gave her a message bracelet I had on. The reason I was shopping that day was to help out a friend of mine who runs the store at Walter C Young Middle School. I introduced her to the vendor so she could obtain supplies from them. She didn't want to go alone... So I went with her that first time. As I was digging through my purse for something she saw an ornate heart key chain that she fell in love with. Now here's the funny thing... I had that key chain in my purse for months... never having attached any keys to it... always planning on it... but never doing it for whatever reason. So when she fell in love with it. I gave it to her... telling her that she should check out theGiftRevolution.com on Saturday. Of course she wanted to know why... but I told her I couldn't tell her just yet. Post Launch - My husband and I stopped by Publix Sunday morning to pick up some Christmas cookies for our AWESOME Usher & Source Teams at Flamingo's Cooper City Campus. While we were there, we purchased a gift card and asked the cashier to use it to pay for the next person's groceries who came through the line... and to give them a theGiftRevolution.com card too. Monday morning - I was volunteering at Walter C Young a few weeks ago one of the ladies in the front office admired the necklace I was wearing. Monday when I went back to volunteer I brought her one... with a Gift Revolution card as well. She was SOOOOOO touched... and truly didn't believe I was serious when I told her it was hers! Monday evening - Kev & I were picking up dinner after running to Flamingo to help out with something and we paid for the car behind us in the drive through. The cashier helping us was pretty perplexed at first... asking us if we knew the people in the car behind us. We explained that we didn't and gave her an extra card so she could check out the Revolution for herself! And now today... can't wait to see where God nudges us to give a gift. It is just so incredible, what you experience giving, the experiences of those you enlist to assist in the gift and those recieving the gift. It's AMAZING!
