the tip

Allen , 43, Davie, US

My wife and i were having lunch at one of our favorite lunch spots and we left 5 times the normal tip amount and wrote on the bill "Merry Christmas. Keep up the Revolution" and left the card inside the billfold. It felt really good to bless somebody that way.

Dinner for two

Nancy, 27, North Myrtle Beach, US

I attend Barefoot Church and we kicked off the gift revolution this morning. Our pastor gave each attendee 5 cards with a dollar attatched to start our gift giving. I work at a local TGI Friday's as a hostess and had it laid on my heart to pay for someone's dinner tonight. A couple came in and ate and when the server dropped their check, they found one of the gift revolution cards instead!!! It was so wonderful to watch the smiles and even better to see them take the card! There's no better blessing than to give to someone else in the Lord's name! Praise God!

LAUNDRY

Tiffany, 22, North Miami Beach, US

I live in a Condo and there are a few washers and dryers throughout the building that is shared by all the people who live here. Well, I put some clothes to wash and decided I'd start cleaning the house while I waited for the clothes. I started cleaning the house and before I knew it 3hours had passed. I completely had forgotten about my clothes. I went over to the laundry room and someone had dryed and folded all my clothes for me. THIS REALLY MADE MY DAY! So, I left a thank you note, with a few dollars I had left in my wallet to pay for a few of their loads of laundry, and the gift revolution card :) GOSH I LOVE THE GIFT OF GIVING !

Family Breakfast!

Joannie Cortes and Family, 26, Weston, FL, US

8.5 months pregnant, sick at home for 5 days (after taking care of my 3 yr old who was sick the week before). Overwhelming is an understatement! I finally decide to get out for some fresh air and go out for some breakfast/lunch at Romeu's Cuban Cafe with my husband and son. We enjoy our meals complete with milkshakes and fresh-squeezed juices when the waitress hands my husband a mysterious card that reads only TheGiftRevolution.com. When my husband signals for the bill, the waitresses secretly say that somebody has already taken care of our bill. They would not say anything else! Naturally, they got a big hug and huge tip from us... especially since we thought it was a treat from them. Needless to say, I was anxious to see what the website was about and here I am, balling my eyes out and honored to have been blessed with such a random act of kindness. Whoever got us started on this revolution has sure created a monster!!! It's amazing to see such a beautiful movement being exercised in our community. We are so excited! Only thing is, I really want more than 1 card to keep it going!!! My husband is a police officer so I bet a couple of people are getting blessed as well! What a way to start the season... God bless you all, and God bless our secret planter too.

My few minutes at the gas stat

Cynthia/ Austin Longieliere, 16, Longs, US

After church on sunday my family and I went to the local kangaroo store and while I tied the 2 dollars to a coke bottle with the card my little brother Austin asked the woman who was working there what was her favorite drink was and he bought it for her. Next, we went to another kangaroo store and bought another woman who works there a drink that she liked. When I told them the story their faces lightened up. They were so surprised when two young kids gave money to help others even though it was just a little drink. They wished us a happy holiday and that made our day knowing that we helped others. Tommorow at school we hope to help others and try to get them to hop on the train of revolution and kids our age as well.

STARBUCK'S DRIVE THRU

JESSICA & ALEX, 25, PEMBROKE PINES, US

11-23-2008 @ 7 PM. Tonight Alex and I went for our usual coffee run at our favorite new drive-thru Starbuck's located in Pembroke Pines. As we approached the menu we decided that we would "inspire the world". We decided to pay for the next customer's purchase. When we got to the window we asked the barista to add the next vehicles tab to ours. Astonished, the barista looked puzzled but quickly said Okay!. As he processed our order we asked him to kindly give the GIFT REVOLUTION card to the person when they went to pick up their coffee. So hopefully tonight we have started a movement no matter how big or small.

"The Birthday Miracle"

Robert P. Wallman, 53, Aventura, US

"The Twenty Second Birthday Miracle" On the evening of January 18,1977, the night before my twenty-second birthday, I developed masssive pain through my groin area. I refused to go to the hospital. I even went to work the next day. However, the pain proved too great. I called home and a friend came and took me to St. John's hospital. I had a preoperative diagnosis of a ruptured meckel's diverticulum. This was my twenty-second birthday. Subsequent to the operation, I developed gangrene, peritonitis, and a 108-degree fever. I was packed in an ice bed. I developed surgical shock and my blood count went down to three. Dr. Christian worked furiously to try to get more IV's into me. The Catholic priest, Father Newell, was called in for me to make my final confession. He asked me if I wanted to make an Act of Contrition or say something in my own words. If it was the last thing I ever said, I wanted it to be in my own words. What I said was: "I don't think God wants me to die, but if he does, there must be a reason. But if he wants me to live, I would live for my family, my friends, and for all people everywhere. And if I do die,to please bless my father, my mother, my two sisters, my friends, and my work. Because it would be harder on them than it would be on me. I would be gone." Two weeks later I woke up alive. Robert P. Wallman ps The point is, is I have nothing in this world. Nothing from a material perspective. I have never been married, nor do I have any children. But God gave me the gift of life. I will be 54 in January, and I have had almost 32 additional years of people touching my life with love, kindness, and forgiveness. And hopefully I have touched a few people too. That is something we can all give to one another.

Papa John's Delivery

Valerie, 28, Miami, US

I ordered pizza tonight and when the very polite delivery man came, I gave him a candy cane and thegiftrevolution.com card and said "this is for you." Simple but still effective. He thanked me and gave me a smile which I returned to him.

Motorcycle Accident

Sharisse Hewell, 31, Pembroke Pines, US

I was on my way home this evening from West Pembroke Pines. I am coming east on Pines Blvd (driving in the middle lane) and just crossed over Dykes Road when the car in front of me swerves to avoid hitting something in the road. I almost hit it too, when I slowed down to look what it was I see it's a motorcycle!! Being a motorcycle rider myself I immediately throw the car in park, put on my hazards and jump out leaving my 2 kids & my sons friend in the car. I see a guy literally on his hands and knees trying to crawl across Pines Blvd. For those of you who know the road, this guy would've never made it alive trying to crawl across. I help him get across the road. Another guy stops to help, gets his bike up and pushes it to the side. The rider is trying to get up, stumbling, shaking, saying he needs to call his dad. I'm asking him to just lay down and relax. I help him get his backpack off & jacket off, his hand is bleeding, other than that and him shaking, he seemed OK. He said a black Honda Accord cut him off, but no accord in sight. Fire rescue was there almost immediately, the fire rescue tells me they were on their way to another call when they saw me throw on the hazards and jump out the car, that's when they stopped as well. Another rescue was on their way to the original call. It was like I was an angel in disguise!! Good timing for me being in the right place at the right time and the fire rescue passing by at the right time. I took his phone # and will call him to make sure he is OK and tell him about the Gift Revolution.

Starbucks this morning...

Katherine Warren, 31, Hollywood, US

See I knew about the revolution for some time now. LOL But I had to keep it hush hush. But this morning on the way to FRC to serve I stopped at STARBUCKS. I asked for a GC. When I got up to the drive thru window the cashier gave me the givt card. Already seeing the recipient in my rearview mirror I handed it back to the cashier after putting the Gift Revolution card inside. I told her to give it to the lady behind me. She smiled and said that she had someone do the same thing last night. She asked about it and I told her... So I realized two things. There is a lot of caring people lately and most of us frequent STARBUCKS.... I am glad to hear other people from Flamingo Road are out in full force letting others know that they mean something to the world.... I will cherish my $1.00 from Pastor Troy and Steph. It was the meaning behind it that will forever mean something to me. I cried so hard when that dollar was given to me, because I knew that they didn't have to do, but they did. So all I have to say is,"GET OUT THERE AND KEEP THE REVOLUTION GOING."

My mom and I decided to go to Arbys right when i got home, and to our surprise we pulled up to the window to pay for our food and the lady said that the person in front of us paid for it and handed us a card that said the gift revolution:) you have no idea how much that means to me, thank you so much:)

The dinner

Pam Booth, 47, Myrtle Beach, US

11-23-08 after church I left feeling really good about the revolution. My finance and I did some shopping and ended up going out to eat, we were seated and I noticed an elderly lady sitting all by herself eating and I decided to give a gift but I was a little scared because people react different to certain situations and the waitress had already given her the check. I asked her waitress if she would go and get her check and bring it to me and gave her the card to give her, she looked at me like I was nuts but she did it. She came back over and told me the lady said she was perplexed and I told the waitress to tell her Merry Christmas. The greatest gift for me was the smile on her face. This not only touched the lady but the waitress as well.

I almost cursed Pastor Troy

Marcus, 35, Miramar, US

I left the 11 o'clock service this morning at the Cooper City Campus of FRC wondering how I would participate in the gift revolution. My wife and I talked about buying lunch for the staff we worked with or maybe doing something for our neighbors. I pulled into a gas station and noticed a woman standing next to a car with a flat tire. My heart sank! I muttered something about Pastor Troy then quicklyy asked for forgiveness. I knew this was the perfect opportunity to start giving but I was all dressed up (I even had on my suede shoes that I rarely wear). To make a long story short I bit the bullet and changed the tire and let me tell you,it was the most difficult tire change I've ever done (there was grease everywhere, even on my shoes!!!). But afterward I declined a "tip" and gave the lady a gift revolution card. She was very greatful and surprisingly I felt great! I hope she got "it" and passed "it" on!

Thanks for all you do

Victoria Sigmon, 52, Little RIver, US

On sunday evening I visited a local nursing home. I delivered a flower to each person working there. I had no idea how many people were working that particular evening and had never been to this facility before.I had purchased 6 carnations. I was hoping there would be no one left out.I was truly surprised to find there were 6 employees working that evening. They were surprised, shocked; and from the enclosed picture you can see brought to tears as well. They all said it made their day;because far too often they feel unappreciated for the work they do. I left there with a very uplifted feeling and look forward to more sharing in the next 25 days
