Part of the Revolution

Jennifer, 45, Weston, US

This was THE most fun that I had today. I went to Blockbuster to rent a movie, bought a Blockbuster Gift Card , enough for two movie rentals and asked the cashier to please give the gift card along with The Gift Revolution card to the next person in line. The cashier was curious as to why I was doing this so I explained to her the concept behind it all and she thought that it was such a great idea that she was going to check out the website when she got off of work. I'm hooked, I can't wait to give something else!

One Lunch At A Time!!

Ansley , 20, Plantation, US

Today my friend and I went to Chili's for lunch. I decided to buy the couple behind us lunch as well. I discreetly asked the waitress to let me pick up their tab and asked her if she would hand them Gift Revolution cards. I saw the waitress talk to a couple of other waitresses and then hand the couple the cards and tell them that their meal was paid for. The couple was puzzled and looked around (not knowing we were sitting behind them). The lady at the table we paid for asked the waitress what was going on and she repeated someone paid for your meal. Still puzzled the girl asked who? The waitress just said I can't tell you check out the website. The coolest part of the story is that after they left, the waitress and her friend came to the table said " um can you please tell me about what you just did, I have never seen someone do that and that is the coolest thing ever!!" I told them about my church FLAMINGO ROAD and what we were doing. She continued to tell me that after I paid she went in the back and told all of her co-workers and that they all wanted cards to start their own revolution. She said she got Goosebumps and got emotional when I paid. I gave her a handful of cards and asked her to join us in changing the world in just 25 days. Not only will she join but she and her friend are coming to church! I am so excited to be apart of this journey what are YOU going to do to change the world?

Chocolate Anyone?

Tucholski's, 31, Calabash, US

We attended service today and learned about "The Gift Revolution!" Before going to a friend's house for lunch, our family stopped to pick up some dessert at Walmart. Out in front of the store, there were people doing a fundraiser by selling chocolate bars. We decided to buy six bars and left six cards letting the people know to give the next six people a free candy bar along with a card. It was an awesome feeling! My whole family, including the kids had huge smiles knowing we made a small step to change the world.

A knock at the door

Tami Waterman, 35, Pembroke Pines, US

Just gotten home from serving at Flamingo Road Church's Cooper City Campus for the MOST AWESOME weekend I've ever experienced, then there was a knock at my door. I went to the door and met Shannon, a student at a local High School who was spending her Sunday afternoon knocking on strangers doors collecting for a charity. I told her I wasn't sure how much cash I had on hand but to hold on just a second and I'd check. I managed to find a $10 in my wallet and headed back for my door... but along with the cash I grabbed a few Gift Revolution cards. I gave her the cash for her collection and then asked her to keep a card for herself and then pass the others out to students at her school. She was so touched by my donation and the Gift Revolution that she asked me if she could sing a song she had written. I was pretty shocked, I thought I was giving the gift and I did, but she turned right around and gave me one back! Her song was one of the most beautiful I have ever heard, I think she said the title was Stand Before You Jesus. Her voice was AMAZING! I had goosebumps standing there listening to this private spontaneous performance. This is SUCH an amazing thing to be a part of! My husband and I are having so much fun giving little gifts to strangers and their reactions are ALWAYS so touching. Even when they aren't the direct recipients, they just witness the gift. It is JUST AWESOME!

Starbuck's Regular

Steven Mullins, 39, Calabash, NC, US

I make a point of driving our "Love Bus" through the Starbuck's drive through everyday to "Pay it Backward". Today I contributed $5 to the car behind me. The car caught up with me (which isn't very difficult in this thing) and asked me for some cards so they can "Pay it Backward" too.

Mother's Prayer/Daughter Gift

Arlene Williams, 26, Miami/Ft. Walton Bea, US

This story was email to me by my daughter, since she has moved to Ft. Walton Beach where her husband is in the service in the Air Force she has missed Flamingo Road Church and I have been praying that she gets connected. Yesterday someone tried to break into there house while my daughter was home so the air force allowed my son-in-law to come home from shift early and stay with my daughter. This is her email: "today whitney thought i didnt want to go to church bc i was still asleep at 930. so he went to the gym. well i stayed up a long time bc whenever i heard a noise from the house i was freaked out the garbage can break in man was outside the house. so i was sleepy. so i woke up and i turned on the computer and for the first time ever i logged in online to watch church service at flamingo road. and i dont know why really but i cried tears for the first 15 minutes while he talked about and showed video clips about givethegiftrevolution.com . it was like a cover had been pulled off of my face and i really felt touched. and then the songs, the praise gets me every time. and it was like a light went off in my heart and i was smiling and watching and it was like i was there. and it is something about that church that just does it for me. i havent loved to praise like that in a couple months now. i needed that so badly. i needed to do it, to experience it. and it was wonderful to be able to do it and feel so alive while doing it. and i teared up some more. i watched the entire service and it was amazing. it was wonderful. and it made me click on the dollar online so i can receive the dollar and the cards to spread in order to give a gift and help start the revolution over here in fort walton beach, fl. it touched me so much that i remembered a neighbors teenage girl liked my purse at our garage sale but her mom wouldnt buy it for her. so i went to go and give it to her. but she wasnt home. nobody was home. but thats not going to change my mind. or stop me. i am going to go back later and write a little card with the revolution website on it. and hopefully something will get started over here even before i get the cards in the mail. and i decided that i am going to have church in my house every sunday. on the internet and join flamingo road church. because i want to feel like this every time i worship. Beginning The Revolution

KB, 56, Little River, SC, US

Wow, this is powerful. I just left church and I'm gonna need more cards. My first dollar came from our pastor and it went to a little girl who was not paying attention to her mother and was running down an isle in Wal-Mart. I called her name. She quickly stopped in her tracks and I handed her the card with the dollar clipped to it. That was the dollar that I'd planned to slip under the lid of a powdered soy baby milk formula, but "Asia" tugged at my heartstings. My next plan was to "tip" the checker at Wal-Mart and as it turned out, he was having a bad day. As he handed me my change, he had to take it back and recount it. He had given me too much. I commennted on how much that small amount of change would have messed up his count. While he wasn't looking I folded up a twenty and slipped it under a card and handed him the card and said it was for him. He could feel the money under it, but it was placed so the overhead cameras could only see the business card. He thanked me and slipped it in his pocket, I'm sure, thinking it was only a dollar. The next two cards went to the Shriners outside selling candy bars. I told them that the next two people that said no, give them the candy anyway, along with the cards. They placed the cards on top of the candy, laughed, and said they'd just given away five already like that. Boy, this is fun.

I am planning on random days at West Broward High School to walk by the vending machines when nobody is there and just purchasing a drink or snack and just leave the money in the machine. I will also place the card inside of the money slot! I hope that someone will appreciate this!! I will do whatever I can when somebody needs help, not just financially but also physically and mentally, anything that can help someone that is in my God-Given power I will do!

Thanksgiving Dinner

Gordon and Tina Simmons, 26, Ava, US

Well, tody we heard about the Gift Revoultion in church. We do not get the chance very often to help our community like we should. So,today, our family made a Thanksgiving basket for a family in need in our town. We filled it with a turkey and all the trimmings, and then extra food to help them. We did not know at the time that the family we were choosing to help had lost the only means of income they had. It felt wonderful to help them out. I hope that everyone in our town can be blessed by someone this holiday season. We are going to continue to give and help where we can.

Everyone Loves Cold Stone

Chris, 43, Pembroke Pines, US

First I want to thank Pastor Troy for giving me his gift at service last night! This was such an awesome idea my wheels were spinning about how I could implement my Revolution. What I decided was to find some way to give for each day of the remaining 25 days so here is day one. My wife and I left service Saturday night inspired to get started so we headed off to Cold Stone for some Ice cream. While in line I was casing the place for my first victim. In comes this nice family with two children. My wife and I paid for our Ice cream and gave the girl at the register and extra $20 and asked if we could pay for the families ice cream. We then asked her to pass along the Gift Revolution Card as our gift with the ice cream. Thats my story for today. As I stated I will perform 1 act per day for the next 25 days so stay tuned.

The Concept into action!!!

wilfredo , 50, miramar, US

Lats night I was @ the service in which The Gift Revolution was launched. After the service I went with a few friends(six in total) to have a cup of coffe and talk about the message. We talked for a long time and after a while I went into our server and paid the bill without letting the others know about it. When the server came to clean-up the table, and the people started to talk about paying the bill, the server told them not to worry, because a friend just paid the bill. Everybody got that Wow feeling in their face. Two great things happened after taht: 1- There was a guy playing his guitar and singing there, most of the parties in my group went to the guy and gave him very good with tips and handed him The Gift Revolution Card. The guy was extremely happy with the expresions of gratitude shown by my friends. 2- After coffe I gave a ride home to one my friends. She knows that I like self-development books, she went inside her house and came back and gave me a set of books and DVD's worth more than $500... The person got it...and it was amazing. The Revolution just started....

The Madagascar Mission

Gaven, 13, Cooper City, US

My friend and I got this assignment at school that tells us to fill a shoebox with the basic assentials(pencil's, paper, books, toothpaste, and a toothbrush). We thought that if a tiny shoebox could change a life, what could a couple hundred dolars do? so in just one weekend we made $200. We have till march to collect!!!

The start of the revolution fo

Jeff Anderson, 40, WHite House, US

The kids and everyone at church got $1 from our pastor last night plus some gift revolution cards to pass out when we start the revolution. They put all $1 bills together and bought 4 different people hot fudge desserts last night at Mcdonalds. The family smiled like there was no greater gift. Then we went to the gas station. I pulled out my $40 that I usually use to get gas.Grabbed a gift revolution card and went in and prepaid.Told the clerk give me $30 on pump 5 and give the other $10 to the next person who pays for gas with cash and handed him the card to give to them.A customer was standing there and they asked why.I told them this world needs some love and blessings. We can all bless someones life with just simple things. So while I was pumping my gas, Alana said that they were pointing at us from the window and looking at the gift revolution card that we left.Gas ended up only costing $27 so I walked back inside and the clerk was getting it out and I told him to put it with the $10. The customer told me "God Bless" and I said I was and I will Simple things that make a huge difference in someones life.Nothing needed in return . Nothing wanted in return. Just showing the world there is love out there. I have to admit that I did get something out of this..I got kids that wanted to help and bless people...I got a wife that gets it.AND I GOT A RUSH!! I am telling you last night was one of the best nights We ever had. We spent $13 of our money . How many of us waste $13 in a night. Heck we can waste more than that easily. We spent 3 hours doing these thing and talking abut them and the revoltion has just begun!! Thanks Pastor Terrell and Pastor Troy !!

Serving those who serve others

Jessica Russell, 26, Gallatin, TN, US

So, Wednesday night my husband (Tony) and I started our gift revolution with the youth at church. They all split into groups, and so we ended up with 5 middle school age young people. We drove to White House, first to go to WalMart and help the employees with a little buggy collection. After that, our plans were to go inside, buy some donuts and cookies, and deliver those to the local fire and police departments. While we were in there, we figured, hey, lets get some small toys and give those out too. So, the youth bought a couple of boy and girl toys and gave them out as we saw small children around. Then, off to the fire department! Those men were BLOWN away, shocked that we showed up at 8:00 at night bringing them treats. And they just couldn't let those kids leave without a little thank you right back, so now, courtesy of the fire department, the youth have fantastic plastic helmets as a reminder of their gift revolution! When we got to the police department, we still had a couple of toys left, so the kids decided to give those to Toys for Tots. It is so amazing that we have a God that can take small, simple things and turn them into a REVOLUTION...the Gift Revolution!!
