Starting a Revolution My Way

Stacey Laurel, 23, Pembroke Pines, US

I don't always use tolls and I don't always have cash on me... I know, I know, I should always have some cash on me. It has happen a few times where I don't have money for a toll, sometimes I am lucky enough to have someone in the car that doesn't mind shelling out a couple of quaters, but one time I was alone lost on a highway I had never been on before with no money. the toll person was nice enough to let me through with out calling on the cops, but I was so embaressed. I know what its like not to have money for a toll, and i think its nice to have someone who took the time to tink about you before even if you have never met. And I think that when I paid for the next 30 cars behind me at a toll, I hope they were able to feel that someone out there does care and loves them, even if they can't see them. God is just awesome like that. Peace!!

It All Comes Back

Jeff Mason, 37, Hartlepool, GB

Today I have been out of town and had to stop at a new pay car park that I'd never used before. What did I find? Someone had only left an already paid for and valid ticket stuck to the pay machine which I was able to pick up and use. I can't remember that ever happening before but it comes only a week after I did exactly the same thing for someone else! As we give to God and do things for God then we are sure to receive great and unexpected blessing in return. Jeff

2 Free Carousel Rides - Innsbr

Manfred Reiter, 20, Innsbruck, AT

The second video shows me paying for the next two rides on the carousel. Funny story: After I was paying for it and stopped recording, the guy selling the tickets was speaking over the speaker the following in German "Everybody listen up. We have two free tickets here - with best greetings from www.thegiftrevolution.com". :-)

Purse for Crocs

Debbie S, 43, Pembroke Pines, US

Several months ago one of my closest friends came to visit and stayed with us for a week. She had the coolest purse and I was instantly crazy in love with it and I told her over and over how awesome it was! The day she was leaving for the airport, I told her AGAIN and she said if I gave her the hot pink Crocs (my favorite pair) that I was wearing, she would give me the purse! AHHHHHH! My favorite Crocs for the purse! YIKES! Of course I went for the PURSE! Needless to say, over the last 8 months, I have received TONS of compliments on the purse. EVERYONE who comes close would appreciate it, make a comment, etc., and I would tell them the story of how I got it from my friend for the crocs, etc., and how everyone comments on it. Last week after hearing about THE GIFT REVOLUTION from Pastor Troy, I was shopping and as I approached the person behind the counter to order, she said to me, "Are you coming here to give me that beautiful purse?" I immediately knew what the answer had to be. She thought I was joking. I went and grabbed an empty box, dumped everything I had out of the coolest purse I have ever seen into the box, went over to woman and gave her the purse. She hugged me and hugged the purse even tighter, and I took a picture of her with my phone. As I walked away, she called out "God Bless You" and I knew once again, He already had.

One Sub at a Time

Jena, 43, Deerfield Beach, FL, US

I go to the same Subway a couple of times a week for lunch. They have footlong subs for $5.00. Over the past couple of months it seems there are a lot of people counting change to come up with the $5.30. So today I happened to go a little late and there was no one in there. I gave one of the girls who always makes my sandwich the money for the next person who comes in, along with a Gift Revolution Card and asked her to please give the card to the next person who orders a sub and ask them to pass it on. She was in shock..she asked "why are you doing this" and I told her that it's a revolution that will change the world. She and the others that work there wanted to know more so I gave them a FRC card and asked them to come this weekend to find out. I pray they do...THIS IS SOOOOO AWESOME!!!!!

Met Roger on a plane

Matt Miller, 31, Cooper City, US

Last week I was flying to Arkansas to speak at a church. While traveling I had the opportunity to sit by Roger. Roger and I started talking and learned that we both were involved in church starts. I had the opportunity to share with him what we are doing with TGR.com and then gave him the $1 and card that Pastor Troy gave us. I encouraged him to help us spread the movement in his town of Spartanburg SC.

A little help for my friends

Tracey, 31, Pembroke Pines, FL, US

Tonight I went to dinner with a group of friends who have been going through a rough spot in life. When the check came the bill wasn't split up between us. The waitress started to try to figure out how to split it up and I thought... This is my time to take care of my friends that need a break and for the waitress that didn't want to spend the time splitting up our checks. I picked up the check for dinner and wished them a happy Thanksgiving. When the waitress came back with the check she said that was so nice of you and it gave me chills. My friends didn't know what I was up to, but I shared the Gift Revolution and left a card with the check and a nice tip. The waitress came by after she picked up the check to ask about the card and I told her it was something for my church that we were doing for the holidays and she should check it out. She then told me that her boyfriend just left on assignment for the Coast Guard and the holidays would be tough for her... Let's hope she gets some hope for the holidays from the Gift Revolution and passes it along!

Un super beau cadeau

Martha Malek, 37, Toulouse, FR

I received the charts “gift revolution” but I took my time to realize and really understand the effect that each card could give, then I said to myself that I should choose the carefully the person which should receive it. I understood that my identity must remain anonymous so that this action become like playing with billiards, I mean that the manner, forces and place the player beat the first ball produced thereafter indeed a perfect effect of an action in chain where all the others balls are touched and falling each one into a hole from the billiard table! So I chose a friend of mine, then I went in the commercial mall to choose him a fantastic gift, then I chose a pretty package with a splendid gold paper with white stars and I then I sent to him with a “deliveryman of pizza pies” which accepted to play the game for some money. I put the small card “gift revolution inside” I’ am waiting impatiently that he tells me what it arrived to him… I would like to control what will be the first reaction of my first received chart, and then I can learn how I can improve my method to give the others and succeed with the serial effect of kindness!

The Key

Roger Clemons, 53, Gallatin, US

On November 10, 2008 while visiting with an associate of mine in the downtown Nashville area, I ran across a man who parked next to me and had locked his keys up in his car. He had no spare keys; had a numerical code option on his door but did not know what his code was. I offered assistance to him by calling the nearest Mercury dealer to have a key made by the VIN number of the vehicle. The first dealer would not make a key for him so I called the Mercury dealer in Rivergate where he purchased the vehicle and explained the situation to them. After a few minutes of checking to make sure they could make a key by the VIN, they told me they could and would only charge $3.00. I told the gentleman I had about an hour or so to spare before my next appointment and I would carry him to Rivergate to get the key. While enroute to the dealership the gentleman explained how much bad luck he had encountered over the last year and a half. First, his wife came down with a disease that affected her to where she had to be moved around in a wheelchair. Secondly, he had to have surgery to remove a quarter-sized kidney stone and while in the operating room the techs let him fall off the operating table, thus doing damage to his side. He had also been put to sleep six times in a short period of time which has caused him to lose some of his memory functions. Thirdly, he kept cash in a safe deposit box at the bank, approximately $10,000.00 in $100 bills. He went to the bank one day, took five $100 bills out of the large envelope, put the box back in the vault and locked it (not knowing he had forgotten to put the envelope back in) and needless to say, someone took his $9,500.00 and no one at the bank will claim they know anything about it. The gentleman explained to me that he began drinking when he was 31 years old, became an alcoholic, divorced and drank heavily for many years. He stated one day a little voice inside him told him that he no longer needed the whiskey, a voice he feels like was God talking to him. He poured out the bottle of whiskey he had and has not taken a drink since. When we arrived back in Nashville, he took the key and opened his car and then asked how much he owed me for taking him to get the key, whereupon I replied he owed me nothing at all. He insisted on paying me but I told him that our church was involved with having its’ members do a kind deed for someone whenever they could. At that moment I felt that God had presented that situation before me to see how I would handle it. I explained that he has had enough bad luck over the last two years and I wanted him to consider today as his lucky day. I told the gentleman that I loved him and that I would be praying for his wife and would put her on our prayer list. You could see the tears in the man’s eyes. He told me he was so thankful for my help. I left there with a great feeling of knowing I made someone else feel better that day and helped them through a crisis in their life. And may I say…what a great feeling that was!!

Parking in England

Jeff Mason, 37, Hartlepool, GB

Parking charges are a fact of life in many parts of the world but here in the UK it seems that whenever your car comes to a stop you've got to pay. At the soccer stadium, shopping mall and even when visiting the sick in the hospital there is a charge levied in the parking lot. Only a few pounds usually but the costs can soon add up. And the parking wardens will quickly slap a yellow penalty notice on your vehicle with a fine to pay if you are not displaying a ticket or you overstay even for just a few minutes. Seems like a good place to start a revolution! Well someone at the shopping mall today won't need to buy themselves a parking ticket because I did it for them. It didn't cost much but hopefully it will be a good start to their day and maybe inspire them to pass a little kindness on down the line. And for me, the gift revolution is already challenging how I think and act in a big way and I've decided I want to give to others much more than I have before.

Costco

Melissa Serrate, 41, Cooper City, US

I was in line to buy one of those delicious churros at Costso and the lady in front of me was just finishing her order, an ice cream cone and pizza for her kids, when the cashier informed her "cash only". I quickly leaned in and said "I will pay for that for you". She was so surprised and somewhat uncomfortable as well as the cashier. What an awesome feeling. I thanked God for placing me in the right place at the right time.

Zaxby's Chicken

Clay NeSmith, 42, North Myrtle Beach, US

Chris & I stopped in at Zaxby's Chicken near Florence, SC and paid for a $10 gift card to be given to the next customer in line behind us. The employees seemed a little puzzled, and the man who received the blessing looked around puzzled too after placing his order. Let the Revolution Begin!!!

Publix Surprise

Nicola , 40, Parkland, US

I joined the revolution on Sunday night 11/09/2008!!! I went to my local Publix for dinner ingredients and as I went to the cash register, felt the nudge - the time was right!!! I always use my check card, so as the cashier tallied up my bill, I hit the Cash Back key and as she handed me my receipt, I said softly, "I need a favor. Can you apply this $20.00 to the next person in line's bill?" She was absolutely stunned and asked, "Is there anything you'd like me to say to them?" I simply replied, "Just tell them that the person ahead of them wanted to put $20 bucks towards their bill and asked them to just check out this website and pass it on...", as I handed her the thegiftrevolution.com card... I still don't know anything about the next person in line! They may not have needed that $20.00 or it may have made a huge difference to them!!! You know what - that's not the point! The point is if each one brings one or if each one helps one we CAN change the world!!! And THAT - THAT my friends, is a powerful notion!!! A notion we're on a mission to prove!!! Can't wait to do more for the revolution - that' what our world needs more than ever...

Cards with Kindness

Valerie Baker, 28, Miami, US

I decided to try something a little different. I am mailing out thegiftrevolution.com cards along with a note I made to random people. The note reads "You have been reached by TheGiftRevolution.com. You have worth in this world. Love your neighbor as yourself and please pass this on. Have a wonderful day!" I am sending 5 out of the country, 5 within the state of Florida and 15 out of state but within the US (including Alaska and Hawaii). Now we pray that these mailout will inspire the world.

No Cash, But A Huge Blessing

Lance Johnson, 32, Gallatin TN, US

This Saturday night, I set out on a Gift Revolution blessing spree....No cash in hand, but a heart ready to share God's love. Here in TN it's starting to get a little cold so I stopped by a Gas station and offered to pump gas for people so they did not have to get out of their vehicle. People were blown away and took the Gift Revolution card with gladness. I also stopped by Wal-mart and helped out the guys in the parking lot gather up stray shopping carts. They were blown away. TheGiftRevolution.com rocks!!!

Stranded on the way to School!

Natalie D., 23, Hollywood, FL, US

I've been praying for God to use me to bless others around me and after hearing about theGiftRevolution.com this desire has grown inside me even more. I became very excited at the idea of impacting my community and the world by doing simple gestures of kindness. The very next morning after I heard of theGiftRevolution.com I was again praying for God to use me in someway during that day. I was running late that morning but as I started slowing down for a red light I saw a car in the left turning lane with the hood up and a man and a little boy standing by the car. I got really excited because I felt in my heart that this would be an opportunity for me to give my first gift. Whats super cool is that I knew the man and boy. I stopped of course and helped him jump start the car and even though I was going to be late I was soooooo overjoyed that I was able to spread a little bit of God's love. My little friend was sooo happy to see me and was super sweet and I just know that his dad was just more than relieved! I can't wait to impact someone else's life through theGiftRevolution.com

Walgreens

Valerie, 41, Clewiston, US

I was in line behind a young mother with a toddler at Walgreens. She was buying food and supplies for her daughter. I noticed that she was closely watching the total, and setting some things aside, to make sure she'd have enough to pay. Inspired by the gift revolution, I was able to cover the cost of her supplies. She was so happy because then she had enough to be able to get a toy for her daughter which she'd previously decided to put back on the shelf. It nearly brought tears to see how happy it made the mother to be able to get the little toy for her daughter.
